I’m beyond grateful to have been a part of SCC. Cheer has always been a part of my life, but this team in particular has truly become more than just a team, but my second family. I have made some of my best friends and best memories on this team. From reaching the top bleachers in a toe-basket at Skyhawk Madness, to flying to Florida to compete, this team has been the most exciting and exhilarating part of my college career. Being a member pushed me not only to grow and to be the best I could be as a cheerleader, but to be a better leader as well. Being a captain since sophomore year has taught me so many lessons, and while it has not always been easy, it’s been worth every second. I love this team, I love this sport, and above all I love the people it has brought into my life. This team will always be a part of me and I’m beyond grateful to see how far we have come and where it will continue to go. Last one best one, SCC on 3… 

Unlike many college cheerleaders, I did not grow up as a cheerleader (unless you count the one sideline cheer season I did in 6th grade). Since I was 4 years old up until senior year of high school, I was a soccer player and competitive swimmer. I did other sports, such as tennis, volleyball, dance to name a few, but swim and soccer were my thing. When I got to Stonehill, I knew I wanted to challenge myself in a multitude of ways by trying new things and getting out of my comfort zone. After talking to new college friends, I decided to tryout for SCC at my freshman orientation. 4 years later, I look back at all of the football games, basketball games, Skyhawk Madness routines, and competing at nationals, and I think of how grateful I am to have had this experience. I have made countless memories, lifelong friendships, all while being led by the most loving and supportive coach, Ari. My time at Stonehill would not have been the same if it wasn't for this team, so thank you to each and every person that I have encountered during these 4 years. You are so loved and hold the most special place in my heart!

If someone were to ask me if I was going to participate in cheerleading again after High School, I would have called you crazy. I would have said there was no way that I, a timid freshman/sophomore, would ever be able to have the courage to even go to a try out. My freshman year, 2022-2023, I was too nervous to do anything - to even join a club. However, I kept going to the football and basketball games, and I kept watching these cheerleaders, flipping, stunting, dancing — and I wanted to be with them so badly. So, my sophomore year, I tried out and was accepted into this family. Of course, like a family, there are ups and downs, but our ups and downs, make our team stronger. We are able to overcome obstacles, i.e. injured players, and still be able to preform PAST what we believed was our best! And the best thing? We ALL push each other to past our limits, being willing to learn, and knowing that what we accomplish individually, is a celebration for all.
